Birds of a Feather Learn Together!
Recently Mr. and Mrs. Doug Proctor traveled to New Mexico on a birdwatching tour. Many of you remember Mrs. Proctor, the former principal at Sardis Elementary. One of the activities that Mrs. Proctor has been enjoying since she retired is bird watching. On Wednesday, December 17, 2014, her husband Doug visited the school to do a presentation for Mrs. Cameron’s third grade class. The third graders were excited to have a visitor and learned a lot of interesting information about bird watching. Kaleb Prater, a student in the class wrote an article about what he learned. Click below for more information about a special bird that Mr. Proctor taught the students about.Full Story
Spelling Bee Winners Chosen
The annual Sardis Spelling Bee was held on December 3, 2014 in the gymnasium at Sardis Elementary School. Each third, fourth and fifth grade class was represented in the contest. After several intense rounds of competition, Reece Hartley, a fourth grader from Mrs. Seaman's class came out on top. The runner-up was Megan Jones, a third grader from Miss Cameron's class. All of the spellers did a great job representing their homerooms. Reece will compete later this school year at the district-wide spelling bee at Wingate University. Hopefully he will go on to to higher rounds of competition! Good Luck Reece!Full Story
